The Herdsman of the Year Award will honor individuals dedicated to the management, decision-making, and improvement of a specific operation.

To be eligible to be nominated, nominees/ranch/company must have attended the National Red Angus Convention or shown in at least one of the following shows in 2025: Cattlemen’s Congress, National Western Stock Show, Iowa State Fair, KILE (PA), American Royal, Northern International Livestock Exposition (NILE, Billings, MT), Western National Red Angus Show (RENO), or North American International Livestock Exposition (NAILE, Louisville, KY).

Voting will close on Jan. 4, 2026, at noon CST.

Each candidate was asked to provide an essay introducing themselves, describing their current position, and reviewing their history and current involvement with Red Angus cattle and the RAAA. Read the essays submitted by Tyler Hahn and Tim Pallokat, and vote today!
