DENVER— The Red Angus Association of America recognized the top-performing cattle of 2025 with the prestigious Grid Master Awards during the 72nd Annual National Red Angus Convention in Loveland, Colorado. The award honors producers and feeders who combine superior Red Angus genetics with sound feeding and management practices to achieve industry-leading carcass results.

To qualify for the Grid Master Award, cattle must be enrolled in RAAA’s Angus Access or Allied Access and meet strict carcass performance standards. Qualifying cattle must be marketed in lots of at least 30 head and achieve a minimum of 90% Choice and Prime, with a maximum of 20% reaching Yield Grade 4 and a maximum of 10% reaching Yield Grade 5. The minimum average carcass weight is 800 lbs. for steers and 750 lbs. for heifers.

This year’s Grid Master Award recipients include:

Conventionally Fed Division:

Frahm Brothers Partnership – Nelson, Nebraska, home fed
Lone Tree Angus – Bison, South Dakota, home fed
Sitz Ranch – Drewsey, Oregon, fed at Sellers Feedlot

Naturally Fed Division:

A2 Operations – Seneca, Oregon, fed at Beef Northwest

“The Grid Master Award was created more than 20 years ago to highlight carcass excellence in Red Angus-influenced cattle,” said Cory Peters, RAAA commercial marketing specialist. “Criteria for the Grid Master Award are continuously evaluated to ensure alignment with current industry trends. Operations are recognized for their continued investment in high-quality carcass genetics and their use of Red Angus Value-Added Programs to stay relevant in today’s beef marketplace – all while maintaining the maternal integrity for which the Red Angus breed is renowned.”

The Grid Master Award recognizes operations that not only achieve exceptional carcass merit but also reflect the performance, efficiency and maternal strengths that define the Red Angus breed. These results continue to affirm the breed’s reputation for producing cattle that meet modern industry demands while maintaining the traits that matter most to cow-calf producers.
